Licensing
The Licensing Act 2003 (which came into force on 24 November 2005) has completely changed the way that liquor licensing is administered.
Applications for new licences, transfers, extensions and approval of structural alterations used to be heard by the Licensing Committee at the Magistrates' Court. Now all those functions have been transferred to the local licensing departments of local authorities.
Each local authority has its own local priorities and issues, so it's important that your solicitor knows the whys and wherefores in each case. At Woodcock and Sons we know exactly that. You'll find that we're very experienced in licensing matters and will take you through the new procedures, with the emphasis on local knowledge and understanding.
